Project 365 Day 96-100 plus a little

I can not believe how fast the week went by! I hardly even did any scrapbooking this week either! I did do a quick photo book for my sister at Heritage Makers but other than that.... not much scrapping. I will have to find some time soon because I have some fun Creative Team kits to work with and I am having withdrawls lol. I don't even really know what I did that made my week disappear so fast. I was busy but I can't really show what I did. We have a busy weekend ahead and you probably all do too. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter. Here are my Project 365 Photos for the week.
Day 96 the prompt was "fun" and since I spent the day babysitting and doing laundry the most "fun" moment I could come up with was that the weather was gorgeous and we got out for a little walk.
Day 97 the prompt was "fold" so here is my coupon folder. Most of my Sunday coupon inserts I don't actually cut out but rather I store them in page sleeves with by date and then match them up with online listings of grocery store deals. There are some odds and ends though that I end up storing in this old stand by and of course when I do sort out what I want I like to put them in here for my store trips.
Day 98 was "fast" I am always looking for ideas to streamline my domestic duties. I love great meals that come together fast and I also love when I can get the house clean more quickly. I have LOVED the book House Works.
Day 99 the prompt was "Bunny." I almost didn't get these chocolate bunnies for the baskets this year but then I thought what the heck! I think they are almost a "must have" for Easter. So I found myself adding 4 of these to my cart.
Day 100 was "egg." I debated about a photo of cadburry mini eggs which are my favorite but decided on the Reese's eggs instead. These are another traditional "must have" basket stuffer. All my kids love them but I would have to say that Cheyenne loves them the most.

On Wednesday I joined the scouts for a canal cleaning project. I was reluctant to commit but then I figured I really ought to go help even if it didn't sound "fun." The boys expression in the photo doesn't show "fun" either but it actually wasn't all drudgery. the boys had a good time as they discovered junk to pick up and I enjoyed visiting with the other adults as I helped too.
So I have still been on the look out for great deals at the grocery store. I felt pretty good about this grocery store trip to Albertsons I made on Thursday this week. I spent $37.58 on all these things pictured and when my receipt printed out I got 3 free milk coupons as well as two 10% off $50 orders coupons for future purchases. Not bad for:
12 boxes of cereal
2 fabric softener
2 mayo
2 salad dressing
1 peanut butter
6 pasta sides
1 ham (8lb)
1 roast (3.5lb)

Easter Fun Ideas

I was watching Good Things Utah today and loved the ideas they showed for Easter. They had a segment about creating an Easter Egg Decorating Kit and I loved the idea of making smocks to cover the kiddos clothing while they died eggs. I always worry about the dye getting on their clothes and this is a great solution and so very cute too. At K McKay Designs web site you can also download some cute journaling cards to create a little Easter photo album. There are lots of other cute ideas on her site as well so scroll down while you are there. She is one crafty lady! I borrowed her image to place in this post to show you what fun stuff you will find at her site.
At the Studio 5 website you will find a section on Amazing Easter Eggs where you will find lots of fun ideas for creative egg decorating. With easter over a week away I think I can find some time to play around with these ideas and create some new fun this year.

A catch up post

I have been wanting to share some of my latest layouts and what we have been up to. If you are here for the grocery post just scroll down.

I mentioned that we spent our spring break in St. George last week. We had such a fun time. I was sad that there wasn't time to stop and visit friends along the way or to shop the new IKEA store. The only stop we made for visiting was at Clayne's brother, Jedd's house. We just had to meet our newest cousin/niece, Ellen. She is such a beautiful baby. They blessed her this last Sunday and we knew we wouldn't make it down again and so we just had to stop. While there we had a little egg hunt with Jenny, their other daughter who is 3. It was fun to see them and their "new" home.

While in St. George we took the kids to church - much to their dismay since we were on "vacation." We thought we were in the right ward because there were lots of kids there, but it turned out that they were all visitors too and the ward we went to was a "retired" ward and they didn't have a primary for the kids so after Sacrament meeting we left and went over to the St. George temple visitors center. They had a wonderful display of statues showing Christ's ministry and then at the end we were able to view the Christ statue which is a smaller replica of the one in Salt Lake. Apparently they have one in our visitor center in Idaho Falls too, but we haven't been over there to see it yet. I loved this picture I got of Cheyenne looking at Christ. The kids lived at the pool while we were at the condo and why not when the temperature was in mid to high 70's the whole time. It was beautiful. We did manage to drag them away just one day to go to Snow Canyon and hike a bit. The whole time we were there they just kept asking when we were going back to the condo so they could swim lol. We hope that sometime when we are down that way we can go to Zion's or Bryce Canyon but until they can hike for more than 10 minutes without so much complaining we figure why bother lol.

I previously posted about the girls having their birthdays. Cheyenne's was celebrated while in St. George, but we were home for Savannah's. I had fun using a baby picture of Cheyenne to show how she has changed over the years. And the one I made of Savannah for her birthday has become my new favorite and I just had to share it.

Happy Easter Everyone. We arrived to our Spring Break Destination in St. George, Utah last evening and it is SOOOO lovely. This is what spring is really all about - trees in full blossom and really green grass... and sunshine! I am keeping this post pretty short since I am "on vacation" lol. Wow! I have been so surprised at the response to this quick page. Last time I checked 4Shared this page had been downloaded 286 times. I appreciate the comments that people have left. Clayne bought his new wheels last week. Remember he rolled his Jeep a few weeks ago. He decided on a 2003 Chevy Avalanche. It is a pretty sweet ride with lots lof bells and whistles. He keeps trying to get me to drive it but I just have no desire. A little too big and too much power lol. It intimidates me. He even pointed out that it has a great feature for short people like me lol. You know how it is that often you have to adjust the seat forward in order to reach the pedals? Well in the Avalanche, you can adjust the pedals to come closer to you. I never heard of such a thing. I am loving that this vehicle actually has room to seat 6 so the whole family can fit. We never could take the Jeep when the whole family was going somewhere. Morgan and Cheyenne just had to get in the pictures here.

One Up

If Clayne needed a new truck then I guess I need something new too. I had a new washer delivered today. Gosh they have gotten expensive since I last bought one 11 years ago. I decided that as the kids grow, and the laundry piles too, that I should get me one of these big bad boys. It is 4.6 cu. If that doesn't mean anything... it is big lol. Now I just wish I had the dryer to go with it. Unfortunately when our dryer went out on us last fall we had it repaired and so now it is a keeper. It just can't keep up with this big washer though. So here is my idea... I will get another inexpensive dryer to put in the basement and then I'll have 2 dryers. Cheaper than upgrading to the big dryer shown here. I didn't really want to spend the money right now on this washer because we have had so many expenses in the last few months but mine was leaking and that just won't do. So any of you that live local, if you are thinking of upgrading your wash system in the next year and want to sell your old dryer (in good condition lol) let me know because if the price is right... you have a deal.

Egging

We went out Egging on Sunday for part of our Family Home Evening. It is much like going Booing for Halloween. When at my Sister In Law's a week ago I saw the notice on her door and thought it was a fun version. I hadn't heard of it in our neck of the woods and so we decided to get it started. My kids love to do this. If you haven't done it yet, make some copies and join in the fun.

The "bunny" will see it and your home he'll ignore.

Recipe Share

It has been a while since I have shared a recipe and so I think I'll share the treat we took egging. I got this one from a recipe book of my friend Jen. This one is quick, easy and Mmmmm.

Squirrel Bars

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/3 cup butter

3/4 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

6 ounces chocolate chips

Mix together first four ingredients. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour and baking powder. Spread mixture in a greased 9"x13" pan. Sprinkle chips on top. Bake 3 minutes at 350 degrees. Take out and "marbelize." Return to oven for another 18 to 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars to serve.
